The stunning automatic precision coffee grinder developed in collaboration with Tim Wendelboe is designed and dedicated for home use, perfect for beginners, as well as for experienced coffee enthusiasts. The Wilfa Uniform is recommended especially for pour-over methods and is one of the latest and best coffee grinders on the market.
Wilfa Uniform is an Automatic Coffee Grinder developed by Wilfa (Norway) in collaboration with Tim Wendelboe – the 2004 World Barista Champion, 2005 World Cup Tasting Champion, and multiple Nordic Roaster of the year.
The Uniform coffee grinder is dedicated to home use, perfect for beginners, as well as for experienced coffee enthusiasts. This coffee grinder was designed to enable you to enjoy possibly the best coffee every day!
Among its advantages are the wide range of grinding setting (recommended especially for different pour-over methods, however, works also for espresso) and precise flat burrs
Uniform is recommended especially for pour-over methods. To change the grind setting, you simply turn the upper element. The scale offers 41 settings that are easy to read.
The grinder has only one on/off button. The grinder also switches off automatically, when it “feels” there are no more coffee beans in the hopper.
Wilfa placed flat 58 mm stainless steel burrs in the grinder, which provide more precision than conical burrs. Thanks to that it allows you to get all of the richness from the coffee.
It is very easy to access the burrs. All you need to do is to unscrew the top part of the grinder. It is easy to clean!
Wilfa first released the Svart, designed to compete with the Baratza Encore, which it beat hands down (faster, quieter, and better grind). However, the Svart was only ever designed to be a filter coffee grinder, not espresso. Since then there has been an expectation for them to release an espresso grinder - hence the Uniform.
Is it any good?
Yes. And again yes! A resounding bit fat YES! So if you are looking for a beautiful, sleek & easy to use coffee grinder for both filter and espresso (Such as the Moka Pot, Stove Top, Aeropress, V60, etc), it's a wonderful option. It's simply a fantastic coffee grinder! The build quality is great but more importantly, the grind is consistent and delivered with precision!
Where does it win over the Mignon?
Its 58mm flat burrs mean it grinds faster than most. It also grinds for both filter and espresso and will prove to be (for some) easier to use and more simple for those without espresso machines, due to its pre-defined grind settings and less technical features. It's very user friendly!
Why is it better than the Wilfa Svart Coffee Grinder?
It's much faster and can grind for espresso (The Wilfa Svart Coffee Grinder cannot grind for espresso) and offers a much more uniform grind (due to its flat burr set). It's also a much higher quality build, with a predominately stainless steel body.
Wilfa coffee grinders come with a standard 1 year back to base warranty including parts and labour.
